Directed and choreographed by Joana Providência, A Family is a Family is a show that explores the meaning of family to the sound of poetry, music and movement. The show begins with a Father (Tiago Jácome), a Mother (Catarina Gomes) and a Daughter (Mafalda Pinto Correia), but throughout the play the same actors take on different family roles, such as the grandfather, the aunt, the wife. Exploring the different shapes, sizes and qualities a family can have. It takes us through the beginning of a family, the moment a family splits and the new families that are born from this.
A Family is a Family is a co production between Teatro Maria Matos in Lisbon, and Palácio do Bolhão in Porto.
