Beyond Dreams explores the most common fears we face as children, from monsters to serious social issues like bullying. We often forget that fear is meant to make us act, not freeze, and this show reminds us of that. A comedic play where we will learn to stop fearing fear.
Hannah (Mafalda Pinto Correia) wakes up terrified in the middle of the night. She just had another bad dream, but this time her big sister Allie (Jordyn Moone) won’t allow them to keep happening. She takes Hannah to a place where she’s never been, at least not while awake - the Dream World. Here where everything is possible, the sisters will have to deal with the shadows of their fears and the voices of their own judgements. Dream and reality collide, and perception becomes their greatest weapon. Beyond Dreams is a play about family, friendship, awareness and courage.
Written and directed by Mafalda Pinto Correia, Beyond Dreams premiered at the Chain Theatre, in New York.
